Where we work
We're based at Lynfield House in Roydon — Harlow postcode, on the Essex–Hertfordshire border — and we come to you. Most of our clients are within half an hour's drive; for everyone else there's video — Google Meet, Zoom, Teams or telephone — which works just as well and reaches clients right across the UK.
Home ground. Our office is at Lynfield House, Harlow Road, Roydon — a CM19 postcode, a few minutes from Harlow town centre, Old Harlow and Church Langley. Harlow families have been the core of our work since 2003: first wills for young parents on the newer estates, mirror wills and property trusts for couples who've been in the town for decades, and later-life planning for those now thinking about care. We visit homes across Harlow, Roydon, Nazeing and Sheering, usually within a few days of your call.
Twenty minutes down the road. Epping, Theydon Bois, North Weald, Waltham Abbey and Loughton have a particular estate planning profile: high property values that pull otherwise ordinary estates over the inheritance tax thresholds, and a lot of long-held family homes where the residence nil-rate band genuinely matters. Much of our work here is making sure wills don't accidentally waste those allowances, alongside lasting powers of attorney for a population that's living longer in its own homes.
Straight up the Stort valley — Sawbridgeworth is ten minutes, Bishop's Stortford twenty. These are towns with a good many business owners, professionals and farming families, which shapes the work: wills that properly account for a company or land, business lasting powers of attorney, and the April 2026 changes to business and agricultural relief that mean plans made even a couple of years ago now need re-reading. Stansted Mountfitchet and the villages between are covered too.
Across the county line into Hertfordshire — and yes, that matters. Broxbourne borough is a different local authority from Essex, with its own approach to care assessments and deferred payment schemes, and we know both sides of the line. We cover Hoddesdon, Broxbourne, Cheshunt, Waltham Cross, Stanstead Abbotts, Great Amwell and Ware, typically as home visits; Hertford and Hatfield by arrangement or video.
The M25 and the A10 put Enfield, Edmonton, Chingford, Barnet, Southgate and Winchmore Hill within easy reach, and we visit clients across North London regularly. The planning challenge here is usually the same: house prices that make inheritance tax a near-certainty for a couple who never thought of themselves as wealthy, and a strong case for trusts where children from earlier relationships or vulnerable family members are involved. Where a visit isn't practical we work by video, which many London clients prefer anyway.
Roydon sits in a ring of villages and hamlets, most of them within a few minutes' drive, and a good deal of our work is in exactly these places — often for people who'd rather not travel into a town at all. We visit homes throughout:
Within two miles: Roydon Hamlet, Stanstead Abbotts, Eastwick, Hunsdonbury, St Margarets and Broadley Common.
Two to three miles: Nazeing, Lower Nazeing, Hailey, Hunsdon, Great Amwell and Gilston.
Three to four miles: Bumble's Green and Wareside.
Beyond those, the surrounding parishes and hamlets across the Stort and Lea valleys are all within comfortable reach — if your village isn't named here, it almost certainly still is. Rural clients are some of our most valued: a home visit means an elderly parent doesn't have to be driven anywhere, and paperwork gets signed and witnessed properly at the kitchen table rather than posted back and forth.
Distance is no barrier to any of this. We work with clients right across the United Kingdom by Google Meet, Zoom, Teams or plain telephone — whatever you already use — with documents sent by post or email and signing arranged wherever you are. It's the same senior estate planner, the same fixed fee agreed in advance, and the same care over the drafting.
Video suits some people better than a visit ever would: families spread across the country who want to join the same call, business owners short of daylight hours, and anyone who'd simply rather do this from their own armchair on a Tuesday evening. Our wills, trusts, lasting powers of attorney and inheritance tax work all apply throughout England and Wales.
You choose the time — daytime, evening or Saturday. We come to your kitchen table, where people think more clearly about their families than they ever do in an office, and where anyone who can't easily travel isn't excluded. The first meeting is free and usually lasts around an hour. If you'd rather talk first, a video call from the sofa is exactly as good. Either way you'll be speaking to Laurence or Kealy, not a switchboard.
